Description

This tutorial is packed with instructions and information and is ideal for anyone who would like to explore the potential of beaded kumihimo.
Instructions for not just one, but 6 beaded heart designs are included in this tutorial. They are presented in ascending order of complexity to enable braiders to develop their skills and understanding of the structure of round braid kumihimo. These skills can be used in other designs, such as necklaces or bracelets. By working through the instructions you will learn the following techniques.
- How to braid around a core of wire
- How to shape and secure the heart
- Whipped binding
- Two tassel options
- How to braid a counted design
- How to reverse the direction of the spiral
The hearts are made on the regular round kumihimo disk. Wire is used in this design. No prior experience of wire is needed and all necessary instructions are included.
These adorable hearts are shown in festive colours because they look wonderful on a Christmas tree, hanging at a window or attached to a gift, but they have far greater potential than that. By changing the colours they could be stunning Valentine’s decorations, wedding favours, congratulatory gifts or just as a way of telling someone you are thinking of them.
