Adventures with YouTube

Kumihimo/Beadweaving

I have just uploaded a two-part video onto YouTube. I have been meaning to try something like this for some time, but just didn’t get round to it. Then, when the recording of my last show on Jewellery Maker went AWOL in the move to the new studio it seemed that the right time had arrived. The design I demonstrated was a bit of a departure from what I usually do because it was a kumihimo/beadweaving design and it seemed to be very popular, selling out almost immediately. There was a lot of disappointment when people found they could not access the show recording, so I decided to do something about it.

I had great fun making the video and I think the setting of my conservatory works well because the lighting is so good. However, living near to an airport and having a garden full of birds and squirrels is a bit distracting. I certainly have a lot to learn and there are quite a few aspects of my presentation style I need to work on, but I hope people will find it interesting and helpful. If I do any more I think I will need better recording equipment and I would love to find a way of having an overhead camera. I also need to learn how to set up for filming, edit and upload. All of that was done by my son, but he won’t really have time to do that in the future. There are so many things I would love to record, but it might take a while!

Take a look and see what you think!
