This loop and ribbon closure method of finishing off a braid works very well with a textured or hairy yarn and provides a cheap, effective and very feminine clasp. This also looks great on a bracelet, but help is needed to tie it into a bow on the wrist, so it is no good for someone who lives alone!
a. Bind and glue the end of the braid to secure it.
b. Bend the end over to create a small loop. Bind the loop with thin cord. Thread a needle onto one end of the cord and bury the cord in the braid. Do the same with the other end of cord.
c. Repeat steps a and b for the other end of the braid so that there is a loop at either end. Thread ribbon through both loops.
d. Tie the ribbon in a bow.
